HISTORICAL SOCIETY

We would like to invite you to our talk on Tuesday 24th of September at 8pm in Roundwood Parish Hall. The speaker is Gay Conroy a Member of the Irish Genealogical Research Society. Gay will give an illustrated talk about Robert Cunningham, the next major owner of Mount Kennedy House after the Kennedys and the Gun Cunninghams (relatives of Robert Cunningham).

ROUNDWOOD AFC AGM

 Roundwood AFC are having their AGM on Monday 30th September in the clubhouse, Varty Grounds at 8pm.  All motions and nominations to be sent to the Club Secretary, Debbie Lowe, Roundwood AFC, Vartry Grounds, Roundwood, Co. Wicklow in writing prior to the AGM.  All new members are very welcome. 

PANTO 2025 

The Roundwood Variety Group is back with their 2025 Pantomime, and want you to be part of the magic!  Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just curious to try something new, you will be welcomed with open arms.

First Workshop for Adults & Teens: Tuesday, 17th September, 20:00-21:00

Both workshops will be held at the Roundwood Parish Hall.

DEMENTIA SUPPORT 

Volunteers sought to support a local family in the Roundwood area. Wicklow Dementia Support (WDS) is seeking volunteers 

ALZPALS is a befriending service which supports people with dementia who are living at home. We are looking for volunteers to become a friend to someone with Dementia. Volunteers are required to drop in to visit a person with dementia once a week for two hours and give their carer a break.

Roundwood Ukulele Players will resume their strumming and singing in Roundwood Parish Hall. Roundwood Cancer Support office is open every Monday and Friday from ten to twelve o clock for anyone who needs advice or help when dealing with Cancer.

Roundwood Men’s Shed: The Shed continues to meet every Tuesday in Knockraheen at Pat Carr’s place (A98 AH02) from 10 to 12 a.m. approximately. We care and listen and share over a cuppa or two. Occasionally we break into song and we have a few fine musicians and singers in our ranks. The experts tell us that music is good for the soul and the mental health of all. We do some gentle exercises and recently we have been planting trees along the VartryTrail. New faces will be very welcome in the Shed. Wicklow County Council Mobile Library will be in Roundwood Village on Thursday26th 

September 2024 from 10am until 11.15am and also from 2.10pm until 4.30pm. Come along and join the library. It’s a free service and is a fantastic way to pick up any book that suits your reading interests.

Results of draw held on Sunday 8th September. There was no winner of the jackpot. The numbers drawn were: 1, 8, 15 & 28. An Tóchar U13 Boys team will host a *Progressive 45 Card game* on Sunday 15th September at 7 pm in Roundwood Parish Hall.  Excellent prize money, and raffle prizes, on the night.  Entry €20.
