ATHLETIC CLUB COOKBOOK

The Roundwood & District Athletic Club cookbook – which was launched last Friday December 8 in order to raise much-needed funds towards the completion of the local clubhouse and track – is full of favourite family recipes of the club’s members as well as recipes from Olympians Fionnuala McCormack, Catherina McKiernan, Derval O’Rourke and the club’s very own Tarja Owens. Wicklow’s finest Catherine Fulvio also features in the cookbook as does the nutritionist to Leinster Rugby and Dublin GAA star Daniel Davey. From yummy chocolate brownies to chicken and broccoli pie to homemade muesli to cinnamon and apple muffins and so much more, whatever your taste, this cookbook has something for you. Full of photos of Roundwood runners throughout the years, as well as being a fantastic cookbook, it is an invaluable snapshot of local history. Priced at €20, the cookbook is for sale in the Roundwood Pharmacy, the Roundwood Inn, Keeleys Hardware, Keith Grant butchers and Roundwood Stores. All funds raised go directly towards the club and its clubhouse so that local kids can keep running, fit and fulfill their dreams.
