NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING WICKLOW COUNTY COUNCIL JOINT POLICING COMMITTEE
Wicklow County Council Joint Policing Committee (JPC) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday 26th April 2023 At The Bay Suite, Arklow Bay Hotel, Sea Road, Ferrybank, Arklow, Co. Wicklow, Y14 DX02 commencing 7.00 p.m.
The purpose of the JPC is to provide a forum where the local authority and the senior Garda officers, responsible for the policing of that area, can consult and make recommendations on matters affecting the policing of the area and in particular to keep under review the levels and patterns of crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour occurring and the factors underlying and contributing to it.
Membership of the committee consists of the Chief Superintendent, Senior Members of the Gardai, Wicklow County Council Chief Executive, Elected Members and representatives from the voluntary and community sector.
The focus of the public meeting will be on policing, rather than individuals and obtaining the co-operation of the public in preventing crime. The local community will have the opportunity to make their views known and ask questions and all are welcome to attend.
To increase the productivity of the meeting and encourage greater participation written questions may be submitted prior to the meeting to hpurcell@wicklowcoco.ie or in writing to the Helen Purcell, Senior Executive Officer, Wicklow County Council County Buildings, Wicklow.
Questioners should give their name and contact details, which will not be publicised. While every effort will be made to provide the information requested in certain circumstances it may not be possible for legal reasons or because it would not be in the public interest to do so.
The annual East Coast FM Wicklow Wide Coffee Morning is back on the Friday 21st April in Kavanagh’s Vartry House, Roundwood. Always a great community day in support of our local Roundwood Cancer Support group.
