HISTORICAL SOCIETY TALK
Esteemed local historian, Martin Timmons, will give us a very informative talk about the history of schools in the Roundwood area. Roundwood had a relatively early start with primary education. Martin’s talk will trace its history from the early 1700s through the mid-1960s, when there were twelve schools in and around the village. Martin is a founder member of the Roundwood Historical Society. A talk not to be missed! Tuesday 22nd November 7.30pm in the Parish Hall.

Minister for Foreign Affairs & Minister for Defence. The Defence Forces will participate. Please Park at Roundwood Cemetery. A minivan shuttle will be available at that point. SHAMANIC DRUMMING CIRCLE
Shamanic Drumming Circle at Roundwood Parish Hall (upstairs in The Gallery)TUESDAY 5th November, 7-9.30pm. €10.
Gather at 7pm for tea, cake and chats. We sit in circle for 7.30pm. We tune in and land into the space, do a round of introductions and check in’s (as much or as little as you like) and then do a collective shamanic journey using the drum. The space is supportive and community building. All welcome, no experience in shamanic journeying or drumming is necessary. If you have a shamanic drum I welcome you to bring it along. You would need to bring a mat to lie on, a pillow and a blanket.

DEMENTIA SUPPORT
Volunteers sought to support a local family in the Roundwood area. Wicklow Dementia Support (WDS) is seeking volunteers
ALZPALS is a befriending service which supports people with dementia who are living at home. We are looking for volunteers to become a friend to someone with Dementia. Volunteers are required to drop in to visit a person with dementia once a week for two hours and give their carer a break.

MEN’S SHED
Roundwood Men’s Shed: The Shed continues to meet every Tuesday in Knockraheenat Pat Carr’s place (A98 AH02) from 10 to 12 a.m. approximately. We care and listen and share over a cuppa or two. Occasionally we break into song and we have a few fine musicians and singers in our ranks. The experts tell us that music is good for the soul and the mental health of all. We do somegentle exercises and recently we have been planting trees along the Vartry Trail. New faces will be very welcome in the Shed. MOBILE LIBRARY
Wicklow County Council Mobile Library will be in Roundwood Village on Thursday24th
October 2024 from 10am until 11.15am and also from 2.10pm until 4.30pm. Come along and join the library. It’s a free service and is a fantastic way to pick up any book that suits your reading interests.
