Roundwood & District News 8th of March 2021

HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Roundwood & District Historical and Folklore Society held their A.G.M. on Thursday 4th March. The Society has had a very successful year despite COVID19 restrictions with Zoom presentations and a sell-out year for the 2020 journal. The new committee are now in place to take the society forward. We are always looking for new members, young and old. If you would like to join us for our talks via Zoom meetings please contact us by email roundwoodhistorical@gmail.com or send us a message via our Facebook page.  We would also like to hear from you if you have any bright ideas on talks and topics for future talks.

One of our aims for the future is to involve more children and young adults in the society; perhaps they might like to give us some ideas too.  Here is the new committee:

Claire Chambers: Chairman, John Pearson: Vice Chairman. The position of Treasurer has not been filled so John Pearson will continue this role until an individual is identified to fill this role. Jane Pierce will continue as Secretary having taken on the role temporarily. Ellen Smith:  PRO. John Medlycott:  Ordinary member number one. Marcelo Pacheco: Ordinary member number two.
