CODERDOJO
The new session of Coderdojo starts on September 23rd in Roundwood NS at 1.30pm. Existing and new participants are very welcome to join by registering on our website www.coderdojoroundwood.com. We do really cool stuff including Scratch, web design and raspberry-pi robotics! To keep the CoderDojo going we do need additional technical mentors. So if you or someone you know has any programming experience (scratch, HTML, css, python etc…) we would really appreciate the help. A great introduction to programming in a fun and entetaining environment for children aged 7+!
MUSIC IN CALARY
The last concert in this year’s Music in Calary series will be held in Calary Church at 8 pm on Friday 6th October, when the wonderful classical guitarist Redmond O’Toole will play Bach’s Cello Suite No 1 (arranged for guitar) together with works by Mertz, Albeniz, Tedesco, Ian Wilson and Domeniconi. MASS OF THE ANGELS
Our Annual Mass of the Angels Remembrance will be on Saturday 7th October at 6.00p.m in Roundwood Church. This special Mass will be for the parents and families of babies who died before birth, at birth, or in infancy, and for those who died in early childhood, youth and young adulthood either in recent years or in the past. We extend a very warm welcome to all parents, families, relatives and friends who have suffered such a loss.
MATHS LESSONS
Rebecca Delamere will be running Maths classes for Secondary School students in Roundwood Parish Hall. Classes will be available for 1st to 6th year students and are designed to focus on common areas that students struggle with. Guaranteed small class sizes and places are limited. WALKING CLUB
The Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action every Wednesday evening meeting at 7pm at the Coach House car park. Everyone welcome to walk at your own pace for approximately 1 hour in and around Roundwood village

In the Howell competition on Friday 15th September Rowena Brady and Noeleen Redmond took 1st place, Monica Brady and June Digby were 2nd and joint 3rd/4th were Paddy O Brien and Ger Lenihan and Maura Gaskin and Bridie Nolan. North/South winners on 22nd September were Noeleen Redmond and Margaret Bolger, 2nd Elizabeth Belton and Philomena Kenna and 3rd June Digby and Monica Brady. Ger Lenihan, Paddy O Brien, Seamus Kennedy and Maria Magee shared 1st./2nd for East/West whilst Jane Cronin and Gertie fee were 3rd.

IRISH MUSIC CLASSES
Learn traditional Irish music and dance with an award-winning Comhaltas branch (guitar, fiddle, flute, tin whistle and grúpa ceoil). It is First Anniversary time for the SHED – how time flies! We plan to hold our very first Annual General Meeting in the Parish Hall in Roundwood on Tuesday 10th October at 8 p.m. The venue and time will hopefully suit the maximum number of our members and all of you readers who may be interested in the SHED. VARTRY WALKS
The current path development and tree care works are being carried out under the forest service neighbourwood grant scheme in conjunction with vartry waterworks and Roundwood and district community council. The tree care work is required to make some trees safe and to promote the developing understorey trees in the interest of long term woodland development. 2018 TOUR

Men’s Shed: Just to remind you again, our SHED is located at Pat Carr’s place in Knockraheen and the members come together every Tuesday from 10 a.m. onwards.
