Illegal Dumping at Knockraheen

knockraheen rubb

This rubbish was dumped at the one of the ‘Adopt A Spot’ areas outside the village. Needless to say the person looking after the area is livid as this is the second time in as many weeks. The items are now in the possession of the Wicklow Co Council litter warden. If you have any information on where this trash came from please send a message to info@roundwood.ie or call Roundwood Gardaí (tel: 01 2818142). The information will be passed on in confidence to hopefully secure a conviction on this litter lout.

To report illegal dumping in the Roundwood area or anywhere in the Uplands please call the PURE line on lo-call 1850 365 121 Check out www.pureproject.ie/  for further information

Roundwood Men’s Shed Volunteers – thanks to Sachiko Tanaka for the great photos

Many thanks to the great volunteers from the Roundwood Men’s Shed who left that safe environment to construct a wooden back drop at the 1916 Memorial at Roundwood Garda Station under the supervision of Colm Galligan from the Roundwood & District Historical & Folklore Society.

A fantastic job which has greatly enhanced the area around the Memorial. Well done to all involved.
