PARISH SALE OF WORK 

The 2014 Roundwood & Moneystown Parish Sale of Work will take place Sunday the 7th December 12-4pm in the complex, a great day for everyone.  Put it in your diary!

LUNCH CLUB

A reminder that the Active Retirement Lunch club will take place on Friday 17th October in The Wicklow Heather.

PROGRESSIVE 45

Progressive 45 cards will be held at Aras an Tochar Saturday 25th October at 8pm. Generous cash prizes are on offer and refreshments will be served

DERRALOSSARY WORK CAMP

The United Friends of Derralossary are holding a work camp on Saturday the 18th of October from 10am to 4pm to help maintain the graveyard. The focus of this work party, apart from the usual cutting and clearing of grass, will be on the interior of the church building and the clearing of scrub and young trees which have been growing there these last few years. Family and friends of those buried in Derralossary are particularly encouraged to come along.

TABLE QUIZ

Roundwood Golf Society Annual Table Quiz Night in aid of Roundwood Senior Citizens will take place in Kavanagh’s Vartry House on Friday 17th October 2014 at 8.00 p.m.  Your support will be appreciated.  Items required for Spot Prizes/Raffle Prizes.  All donations will be gratefully accepted

DIAMOND BRIDGE CLUB

North/South winners on Monday 6th October were Ger Lenihan and Paddy O Brien, 2nd/3rd Monica Brady Gertie Fee and Pamela Byrne and Clare Sally 4th Rachel Judd and Molly Byrne.  East/West victors were Kay Plunkett and Mary Pierce, 2nd Brid Clancy and Bridie Nolan, 3rd Catherine McGillycuddy and Pauric Gleeson and 4th Marie Kavanagh and Ann Kennedy.

 002 BRIDGE CLUB

On her first visit this season June Digby played her cards right with Monica Brady to take 1st place for North/South 2nd Kay Plunkett and Catherine McGillycuddy and 3rd Jim McNamara and Margaret Bolger.   1st for East/West were Teresa Leahy and Elizabeth Belton, 2nd Paddy O’Brien and Gaye McGettigan and Molly Byrne and Rachel Judd were 3rd

MORNING BADMINTON

Tuesday morning badminton started back on Tuesday 7th October at 9.30am. All are welcome. Why not call into the sports centre after dropping the children off at school. Rackets are available so just turn up.

SET DANCING

Set dancing in Kavanagh’s lounge every Thursday night with live music for the rest of this month and October with Michael and Brian. Session from 9pm until 11pm. Visitors to the area and beginners are always welcome. If you would like a quick lesson on the steps before the session begins just give Sheila a call on 087 2121522.

PARISH HALL DANCE

The next Parish Hall dance is on the 17th October Music and Entertainment by John Flood. Tea & Scones and raffle prizes lots of craic for all Admission €8.

JUVENILE BADMINTON

Juvenile Badminton started on 29th Sept in GAA complex Roundwood. Opening to all 4th, 5th & 6th class students. Registration Fee €50.00

ANGEL HEALING

Angel Healing takes place every Monday night at 7.30 in the Parish Center, Roundwood Village. It is non denominational. Come along, to a night of Meditation, Relaxation and Spiritual connection.  For more information contact Mary 087 9819420

LOTTO RESULTS

There was no winner of last week’s jackpot. The numbers drawn were 9, 20, 24 & 30. There was one match three winner, Eamo Wolohan.   Next week’s jackpot will be €13,400

KILMAC HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Kilmacanogue Historical Society will host Jeff Kildea in The Glenview  Hotel,  Glen of the Downs at 8.30PM  on  Tuesday  4th  November, who is the Keith Cameron Professor of Australian History at University College Dublin and an adjunct at the Global Irish Studies Centre at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. He is the author of Anzacs and Ireland (Cork UP,2007), a study of the relationship between Australian soldiers and Ireland during the First World War. He is currently compiling a database of all the Irish-born who served in the Australian forces during the war, which will be available on line.  Entry €3 (€2 for members) – all welcome.  Website: kilmacanoguehistorysociety.com

ZUMBA CLASSES

Zumba classes recommence in Roundwood Parish Centre at 7pm every Tuesday night with Adam. If you’re looking for a really fun way to tone up and loose lots of calories, this is the class and it’s amazing the fun you will have working out! Cost €6 per class
