COMMUNITY COUNCIL AGM
The AGM of the Roundwood & District Community Council will take place on Monday 21st of October at 8pm in the Old School Roundwood. All members of the community are welcome to attend. The group are actively working on projects in the area including Tidy towns, Senior Alert scheme, Roundwood calendar, playground, walking routes, to name but a few. Why not come along to find out more and to make suggestions for the future.

Roundwood Variety Group is holding a cookery demonstration with a Christmas theme by the well known Wicklow chef, Catherine Fulvio, in The Royal Hotel in Bray on Wednesday 20th November. Tickets will be €20. Keep the date free as it promises to be a great night.

CHRISTMAS SALE OF WORK
This year our parish sale of work will take place on Sunday 1st December 12-4pm. We would be delighted to have everyone who usually helps us out with the sale on or before the day to help us out again this year. Last year we had some new attractions and it would be great if we could add to that this year. MASS OF REMEMBRANCE
Our Annual Mass of Remembrance – Service of Light will be on Saturday 2nd November at 6.30pm. This mass is for parisioners who died in the past year and whose funerals took place from either Roundwood or Moneystown Church.
IRISH CONVERSATION CLASSES
Improve Your Gaeilge – Maybe you want to be able to help your child/grandchild with their ‘obair baile’ or simply be able to understand the ‘nuacht’ or weather on TG4. If so you might wish to join An Tochar GAA’s Gaeilge conversation classes this autumn. Eileen Patterson will be hosting and has already started on Tuesday nights in Aras an Tochar at 7.30pm. Eileen will not be charging for the classes but a donation of €2 per night is encouraged which will be given to a charitable cause at ‘Nollaig’ If you’re interested please come along on the night.

KILLARNEY WEEKEND
A weekend to Killarney from 25th to 28th October will leave Roundwood at 9a.m on the Friday 25th and not 24th as previously stated. All money to be paid before 20th October. For more details contact 0404 45276 after 8pm.
ATHLETICS
Tuesday Training Session. We are getting a great turnout for Tuesday Adult training session at the GAA Complex 6.30pm to 7.15pm. Coached by Anne Marah, this is an ideal way of starting running or improving your fitness. We run under lights, in a safe and friendly environment and all are welcome. Sunday Training Session. We have another training session on Sundays from 10am (except when there is a competition on – restarts Sunday 20th October at 10am) at the Reservoir (entrance on the Newtownmountkennedy Road). This is an endurance session (for about 40 minutes) and is open to both adults and children. Come along and try it. Ask Anne or Brendan for more details.
ATHLETICS AGM
Club AGM – Thursday 7th November 2013. We will hold our Club AGM at 8pm on Thursday 7th November 2013 in the Old School, Roundwood. The club needs ongoing support from parents, coaches and adult athletes to improve and develop. Come along to have your say and hear about the plans for 2014.
CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Athletics Leinster Cross Country Championships – 27th October/ Will take place in Dunboyne, Co. Meath on Sunday 27th October starting with the U12s at 12.00 noon. Please confirm by next Wednesday (16th Oct)if you are available to take part in this competition. Our club kindly pay for entries for this competition and these have to be posted on Thursday. FYI the first 12 individuals will be medalled at the Leinsters. The first three club teams and county teams will also be medalled. So our boys will be running for club, county and as individuals! Girls will be running as individuals and for county.

Looking for something different to do on a Tuesday morning after you have dropped the children to school? Why not come and join us for an hour of Badminton in Aras An Tochar from 9.30am started back on Tuesday 1st October 2013. All are welcome including Total beginners – no need to go out and purchase a racket as there is a few available to try out.

There will be dancing in The Community Centre in Roundwood on October 18th music will be by The Wicklow Man and on 15th November music is by Tony Davitt. All are welcome.

ROUNDWOOD SET DANCING
Calling all would be, could be and should be SET DANCERS. We have been plodding away at our weekly set dancing sessions every Thursday night in Kavanagh’s Lounge but we now need your help. Thanks to the loyal support of our musicians, we still have live music every night with the exception of one night per month. However due to fall in numbers, we cannot continue without your support. If you think you would like to try this we are giving lessons from 8.30pm before the session starts at 9pm so please feel free to join us.
